Ten years ago (it shocks me that it was really that long!) Telstra had a very clever little advertisement that they used to use to plug their burgeoning broadband service. The ad featured a little boy in the back of the car completing his homework.
When sharing and responding to children’s literature we are usually referring to a finished product, in most cases a book, however the process that lead to the physical item should also be examined to determine quality and excellence – how it evolved from an initial idea to being captured by an author’s and/or illustrator’s imagination and finally designed and published as a complete work.
CBCA Tasmania sponsored the film nights at the Book an Adventure: Bruny Island Children’s Literature Festival, which ran from the 15th to the 18th January 2015 on Bruny Island. The festival was such as success that the workshops were oversubscribed!
